Betsy’s posts will help members

create the “wow” factor

The blog will provide helpful info to enhance the pup-human relationship. Communication and trust are key to everything, whether it be obedience, sports or other fun stuff. Betsy will share helpful tips and ongoing ideas for ways to create or strengthen an unbreakable bond between members and their BFFs.

Betsy has been a SWCDP member since 2010 and has enthusiastically volunteered her time and dog knowledge with SWCDP members since 2017.  Professionally, Betsy is Director of the Center for Plant and Life Sciences campus with St Louis Community College. Be it biotechnology or communicating with our dogs – Betsy’s passion is teaching and she enjoys getting people excited about both.

Mathilda
With experience in a variety of dog training areas, Betsy’s primary emphasis is in agility. She got into agility 16 years ago in attempt to wear out her wonder dog, Mathilda – who had amazing stamina and courage up to the day she crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2023. Mathilda remains Betsy’s inspiration.

At home, Betsy’s pack is ever growing thanks to so many foster fails! Betsy competes locally in agility with Oliver (border/corgi mix) and her rescue, Barcleigh (adorable corgi). In 2023, Betsy adopted her foster, Henry, who is deaf – so his agility interest is still to be determined.

Zuzu

And, Zuzu, is the current foster resident – with very good odds of joining the pack permanently. Lots of love in this household.

SWCDP is proud to offer it’s members a dedicated space for the enjoyment of variety of dog sports – emphasis on agility. Under the leadership of Betsy Boedeker, SWCDP Dog Sports Manager – SWCDP will offer dog park members ongoing free sports activities – agility, luring, nose work, & more – as well as limited professional level training classes (fee based) throughout the year.
