Drew’s Background

Drew served as EMT, a deputy team leader for Eureka Fire and Rescue, and as the former communications officer for strategic response and preparedness. He was also part of the National Disaster Medical System for over 20 years, assisting in everything from Haiti relief to covid pandemic. Drew is currently active in multiple social organizations in St Louis, including “Hasher House Harriers” and “Krewe deVille” as well as becoming an ALS advocate, speaking at various organizations.

Drew Says

“With the knowledge that I will lose the ability to speak at some point, I’ve decided to use my voice as an advocate for this disease. I am no longer going to quietly sit by and allow this rare, shitty disease to just take my life. I’m going to do my best to share my experiences with the world and advocate for those who no longer have a voice.”

Best Friends and Event Organizers Say

Drew’s love of and pride for his community is evident to anyone who meets him. Those close to Drew know that his main purpose is to help people. With no agenda, he dedicates his life to improving the lives of others.

With this diagnosis, he learned that not only did he have a disease that would eventually take his life, but that this disease would ultimately take away his ability to care for himself. Upon hearing this news, Drew took it upon himself to find a new purpose: to fight for people with ALS. In 2023, Drew’s efforts raised over $30,000 for ALS. He became an effective advocate and spokesperson for others, but has been hesitant to let others help him.

The time for us to step up is now. Helping Drew financially will enable him to have more autonomy in his daily life. Currently, he lives in a City house that is not handicap friendly – upgrades are difficult. Our money may not cure his disease, but it will make his time with us easier for him and his loved ones.

If anyone ever deserved this gift – it is Drew.

We invite you to join us for an evening of multiple bands, dancing, dog contest, a great silent auction and cool raffle items. Please help us help Drew.
